چکیده

The cytotoxic effects of red clover, blue false indigo, and raspberry plant extracts were evaluated on CHO-K1 cells. hormone-dependent cells are ovarian derived from Chinese hamsters. Trifolium pratense (red clover) obtained the blossoms leaves clover plant. Baptisia australis (blue indigo) roots, stems, indigo Rubus idaeus raspberry) prepared fruits Two methods, soxhlet microwave assisted extractions, utilized for their effectiveness in producing phyto extracts. Methanol was solvent used both methods. In all experiments, cell line exposed to different a period 48 hours. An MTS assay performed evaluate capabilities each extract at concentrations line. After collection data, 1:1 combination extracts, via extraction, yielded most potent

Effects of Extracts from Trifolium medium L. and Trifolium pratense L. on Development of Estrogen Deficiency-Induced Osteoporosis in Rats

Some plant species belonging to Trifolium L. genus are a source of isoflavones considered to exert phytoestrogenic activities. The aim of the present study was to examine the effects of standardized extract obtained from aerial parts of Trifolium medium L., in comparison with the extract of Trifolium pratense L., on the development of estrogen deficiency-induced osteoporosis in rats. Both Trifo...

Red Clover (Trifolium pratense)

Brief Background: Red clover is a legume, which like soy contains "phytoestrogens" (plant-based compounds structurally similar to estradiol, capable of binding to estrogen receptors as an agonist or antagonist). Red clover was traditionally used to treat asthma, pertussis, cancer, and gout. In modern times, isoflavone extracts of red clover are most often used to treat menopausal symptoms, as a...

Red clover (Trifolium pratense).

Genetic modification of plants by the insertion of transgenes can be a powerful experimental approach to answer basic questions about gene product function. This technology can also be used to make improved crop varieties for use in the field. To apply this powerful tool to red clover, an important forage legume, a population of red clover with a high potential for regeneration in tissue cultur...

Incompatibility in Autotetraploid Trifolium Pratense.

RIFOLI U M pratense L. is a highly self-incompatible species. An oppositional Tsystem of incompatibility has been established in this species by WILLIAMS and SILOW (1933). Artificially induced autopolyploids have been produced by LEVAN (1948) and FRANDSEN (1948) and selections have been carried out for several generations to improve their fertility. But no work has been done to study the effect...

Evaluation of the estrogenic effects of dietary perinatal Trifolium pratense

This study was designed to investigate the potential estrogenic effects of perinatal dietary phytoestrogens on the rat uterus. Pregnant rats were divided to three groups provided the following diets: (1) rat chow, (2) rat chow with 7.5% Trifolium (T.) pratense, or (3) rat chow supplemented with 17β-estradiol (0.5 mg/kg). The dams in each group were kept on the same diet during pregnancy and lac...
